EMAKHUWA - part III

The very hospitable healthy makhuwas. I was invited to some meals in their houses. They just eat the men, seating in a mat and “of hand.” Quite so--- no there is any silverware species. Some until they offered me a type of picking, of wood, half rough--- but I always preferred to eat with and like them.
A plate is put in the mat with the food ---- usually corn chima or cassava and, sometimes, when the family is in good conditions, fried egg and rice.

The women makhuwas cannot be mixed the men, eating later, if food remains.

Here is a registration of a meal that I participated, beside 3 emakhuwas.

It is worth the registration that those 3 makhuwas is leaders of ORERA--- an association of farmers in the district of Nacarôa, province of Nampula

The organization family makhuwa is very motherly. The successor of Mwene will never be his son--- his successor will always be his nephew, since her sister's son. See well, nephews children of siblings are also out of the process. He has to be nephew sister son.

SEEMS JOKE, BUT MAKHWAS ALSO THINK “CHILDREN OF MY DAUGHTER GRANDCHILD ARE.--- OF MY SON... WILL BE OR NO.”

Like this being, I found, in the Administrative Position of Ocúa, district of Chiúre, province of Cabo Delgado, a Mwene that introduced me his successor and heir---his nephew, in spite of him to have 4 women and 19 children.

YES, MAKHUWAS CAN HAVE HOW MANY WOMEN WANT.

However, in spite of this fact, the women makhuwas also betray a lot their husbands and, besides the fact of the succession to be always motherly, the married women always keep received objects of yours “lovers” in their parents' house, with the consents of these.

THIS I THINK TO BE VALIDATION OF THE BETRAYAL.

The makhuwas that live at the towns or populated usually speak Portuguese also. Some speak better, other they only know rudiments.
And I am admired when see starving people, without clothes, living at straw huts speaking two languages fluently--- while, in some big cities, in Brazil or in any other Country, most smashing of the population just speaks her native language and, sometimes, very badly.

I went very well received in all of the communities in that I passed and, in all, clear, I needed of the interprets.

There was always somebody that understood the Portuguese and could make this paper.

In this picture, I am speaking and, to my left side, the Interpreter, waiting to translate for Emakhuwa.

Notice that they are almost all sat down in the ground. There are no chairs, just a bank for me, the community's Mwene, for more some people “important” and mine to interpret The following registration was made in the Administrative Position of Nachere, District Nacarôa, Province of Nampula.
